Vieux Boucau
Welcome to Vieux Boucau, one of the nicest surfing villages! Located on a cosy family campsite is the small-scale Brunotti family camp. We offer this family surf holiday in collaboration with Surfblend under the name family camp Vieux Boucau. Our location is 150 metres from a lovely beach with good waves. There are atmospheric restaurants, shops and a supermarket within walking distance. Furthermore, we offer you the best surfing lessons for every level, young or old. One thing is for sure, a surfing holiday at the Family Surf Camp in France with the kids is unforgettable.
About the accommodation
Camping at its best. That is what we offer you with our wonderfully spacious, modern and fully equipped safari tents 150 meters from the beach. Our spacious safari tents are located on a small-scale Family Surf Camp where you will definitely have a good time.
The safari tents at our family camp are fully furnished, so that you are provided with all the comforts. You and your family sleep in a double bed, bunk bed and single bed. Does your family consist of six people? Extra cozy and no problem, then we will add a bunk bed. If desired, we also have cots and high chairs, everything to make this family surfing holiday with the children as easy as possible. Do you want to use this? All beds have a comfortable mattress. It is also possible to book pillows, sheets and blankets for the whole family for an additional fee. Now that’s a relaxed surfing holiday! Furthermore, this tent includes seating, a large table and chairs. These are outside on the terrace in front of your safari tent. The family surf camp guarantees a cozy breakfast with the family in the sun. But this is not only the perfect spot during the day, the warm summer evenings with French wine while you hear the waves breaking in the background are also unforgettable. The safari tent also has lighting, a clothes rack and a small kitchen with a refrigerator. Of course, there is also electricity available. Everything you need!
The Family Surf Camp is located 30 meters from the shower and toilet building and is right next to the dunes.

Safari tent
This tent is suitable for families up to 6 people. Our safari tents in France are fully furnished, so that you are provided with all the comforts. The sleeping areas are furnished with a double bed, a bunk bed and single beds.
The tent is equipped with a seating area, a spacious table and chairs, which are placed outside on the terrace in front of the glamping safari tent.
In addition, the safari tent has lighting, a clothes rack and a small kitchen with a refrigerator. The kitchen offers enough space to cook, and of course there is also electricity.
About surfing
Of course you come to the family camp to (learn to) surf! The surf lessons are outsourced to the local French surf school. They work exclusively with certified surf instructors, have experience with different ages and are enthusiastic about teaching you to surf. They work with small groups and take into account level and age. This way you can safely catch your first wave together as a family. How cool is that!
Children from 10 years old can join the surf lessons. We offer two surf packages of three (surf basic) or five lessons (surf’s up).
- Rental package
Have you been bitten by the surfing bug? Then get into the water with a board outside of the lesson! With our rental package you can rent a surfboard and wetsuit for 7 days. At the family camp the rule is that you must first have had a surfing lesson before you can surf freely. Unfortunately, it can sometimes happen that you are not allowed to surf freely. This has to do with the wave height, current or unfavorable tide. In the event that this occurs, the crew will clearly indicate this. Rental of the wetsuit is included in the rental package.
- Wetsuit
A wetsuit is included in every surf package. These are comfortable wetsuits that are available in all sizes. A wetsuit provides some protection on your surfboard and of course from the sun.
- Surfboards
During the surf lesson we only use ‘soft top’ boards. These boards are specially developed for the beginning surfer. By learning on a ‘soft top’ surfboard you make a perfect start with surfing. This way you are guaranteed to catch your first waves within your first week. You can choose from different sizes of boards.

About Surf Yoga
In addition to our surf packages, the family camp also offers yoga lessons twice a week. Surf yoga is an excellent way to prepare your body for your surf sessions. Surf yoga helps against muscle pain and is also a lot of fun! The yoga lessons are given outdoors in the forest or on the beach, an experience in itself. The lessons are given by a certified and enthusiastic yoga instructor who works at the family camp.
About the meals
During your family surf holiday you want to enjoy as much quality time with your family as possible. It would be a shame to spend all your time shopping and cooking. Fortunately, you can choose an excellent half-board formula at the Family Surf Camp. This formula consists of: 8 x breakfast buffet and 3 x dinner plus drink! Children under 12 years old receive a 50% discount.
We always cook with fresh products, make sure there is more than enough and take into account any allergies or other dietary requirements of our guests as much as possible. A professional chef works at the family camp who prepares excellent meals for you with great passion. You will definitely taste that!

Every morning (7x) you can enjoy a freshly prepared, delicious French breakfast. The breakfast consists of baguette, various types of sweet and savory toppings, cereals, coffee, tea and fruit juice and with some regularity a surprise from the French bakery. After the relaxed breakfast you can go straight to the beach to enjoy the sun and waves, the perfect family holiday in France!

Fancy a snack during the day? In the chill area of the family camp you will find a bar where you can order the tastiest snacks such as bags of chips and ice cream from the family camp crew. We work with a stripe system so that the kids don’t have to go out with money. Extra relaxed!

A fun holiday is of course not complete without ice cold drinks from time to time. We have taken that into account at the family camp! In the chill area of the family camp you will find a bar where you can order the tastiest drinks such as soft drinks and alcoholic drinks from the crew. We also work with a bar system here.
Dinner and BBQ
At the Family Surf Camp you can of course also enjoy the delicious French cuisine. On the days that there is no option for dinner you can choose from many nice and affordable restaurants in the cozy center of Vieux-Boucau.
Half board
In addition, with the half board formula you have the option to enjoy a delicious dinner 3 times in addition to breakfast. The meals are healthy, very varied and prepared with fresh ingredients by a professional chef. The dinner is delivered ready-made to your safari tent by our crew. This way you can go straight from the beach to the table, without having to go shopping or cook. Ideal, right?

PROGRAM
During your family surf holiday, you can enjoy the sun, sea, fantastic surf and beach every day. But of course there is much more to do than just that, you won’t be bored for a moment!
France is known for its excellent wine and cheese. A wine and cheese evening can therefore not be missing from the programme, of course. This atmospheric activity takes place at the beginning of the week together with the other families. A nice way to get to know the other families and discuss the day’s waves.
The campsite has a nice volleyball and sports field. The tour guide organises a volleyball tournament midweek for all families. Very entertaining, and who knows, you might grab the first prize!
CREW
The programme during your family holiday is organised by an enthusiastic and motivated crew. From babysitting during mum and dad’s surf lesson to searching for beautiful shells on the beach. Of course, the crew is always there for you when needed.
ACTIVITIES
Furthermore, there are several other activities to do. The sporty ones in the family can book a SUP tour or a canoe tour. Want to explore the area in a more relaxed way? Then hire a beach cruiser and get out and about! The area has beautiful, green surroundings that are perfect for cycling or hiking.
A day at the water’s edge with small children who cannot yet swim (so well)? Vieux-Boucau has a large inland lake within walking distance of the family surfcamp. At this lake, the water drains very slowly, making it a popular spot for families.
In need of adventure? A 15-minute drive from the family surfcamp there is a climbing park, quad biking and paintballing. For animal lovers, there is also a horse-riding centre. This will be an unforgettable holiday!

Next to Hossegor lies the village of Soorts-Hossegor, this village is known for its (surf) outlets. In these outlets you can find almost all surf brands with a big discount. In Soorts-Hossegor we also know where to find a few nice lunch cafes, so that we can continue shopping afterwards.

The family surfcamp Vieux-Boucau also offers a comfortable bus trip. This is provided by Directliner The buses are royal class, which means that you have enough space to sleep well on the way. can be. Of course, there are regular stops to stretch your legs!
Departure & arrival
The bus leaves on Friday afternoon from the Netherlands, on Saturday morning around 09:00 you will be dropped off at the door of the campsite. The crew will be waiting for you and your surf week will really start! Seven days later you will unfortunately leave on Saturday evening back home. Sunday (end) morning you will be back in the Netherlands.
Departure times
The departure times and addresses of the boarding points are also stated on the bus ticket. Taking a surfboard on the bus is permitted. (max 2.5m long) The costs for this are €29,- and must be communicated with the booking. You will receive the bus ticket and the accompanying information seven days before departure by email. Make sure you are present at the boarding point at least 30 minutes before departure.
