Surf, surf and more surf! That is what the Surfcompanions x Brunotti Retreat is ALL about. During the first weeks of september the Brunotti surfcamp hosts two very special retreat weeks.
These weeks we focus on progress through a number of exclusive surf theories, extensive programs for every level and a duration of either 7 to 14 days.
However, this doesn’t mean that there is no room for fun! We have planned several incredible activities for you to enjoy next to your time in the ocean. Continue reading for more information on these one-of-a-kind retreats.
About your accommodation
During your surfretreat in France you’ll sleep in a bungalowtent. Brunotti surfcamps only uses modern and spacious tents, so you’ll be getting a good night’s rest after a long day catching waves in the ocean. There are several accommodation options to choose from. All the bungalowtents are subject to availability. Do you prefer a slightly more luxurious tent? Pick the ‘Glamping’ or the ‘Glamping ‘de Luxe’. This tent can accommodate 1 to 2 people. You’ll sleep on either a single or a double bed with a comfortable mattress. These tents are build on a wooden floor and equipped with electricity, a lamp and a cooling box. Are you solo travelling? In that case you’ll sleep on a single bed and you’ll share the glamping with somebody who’s also solo travelling (M/M – F/F).

This tent can accommodate 1 to 2 people. The tent is spacious enough for all of you and your friends belongings. The tents are on a field close to the chill area of the surfcamp and sanitary blocks. About the surfing
At Brunotti surfcamps in Vieux Boucau there’s nothing more important than surfing! We share this passion with Surf Companions, which is the unrivalled resource in surf knowledge and progress.
With this collaboration comes what we believe is the ultimate surf retreat in the south of France. We’ve created 3 surfpackages for you to choose from, which all focus on progressing as much as possible. During the truly unique retreat weeks we apply all the theory in the Surf Companion books in the surflessons. We make sure that you understand the theory, and improve twice as fast through this. ROOKIE TO GREEN WAVE STARTER (14 DAYS): 31/08 – 14/09
Never surfed before, but do you want to make your first time count? This is the package for you!
In 14 days, you’ll go from a rookie to intermediate level surfer. The first week of your Surf Companions x Brunotti Retreat we’ll focus on the basics of surfing, to give you the best start to surfing that you can get.
After you’ve managed to pop-up and surf a white water wave you’ll follow intermediate surflessons in the second week of the retreat. After the second week you’re gonna be able to paddle out to the line-up in the back and catch green waves by yourself!

About Surf yoga
We know like no other how tiring a full day in the water can be. That’s why during our retreats we offer surf yoga lessons 3 x a week in addition to our surf packages. Surf yoga is an excellent way to prepare your body for your surf sessions. It prevents muscle pains and is great fun! The yoga classes are always taught outside, either in the forest or on the beach. The classes are taught by a enthousiastic & experienced yoga instructor. Surf yoga is truly an experience in itself!
About the meals
At Brunotti surfcamp we know all about good food. We prepare a delicious dinner five times a week. The daily meals are diverse, healthy and fairly priced. Once a week we fire up the grill for one of Brunotti’s famous barbecues. The Brunotti surfcamp is home to a professional chef that cooks your meals with incredible amount of passion. The chef always makes sure that there is plenty and takes all the dietary restrictions or allergies that you may have into account. No one goes hungry after a long day of catching waves!
Every morning our breakfast crew gets up early to prepare an extensive outdoor breakfast buffet for the guests, including freshly prepared coffee, tea and fruit juices such as jus d’orange. Rise and shine!

The best days start with the best breakfast! At the Surf. Companions x Brunotti retreat we know like no other how important it is to have a good base for a day full of sun, ocean, surf, drinks and good times.
That’s why we make sure that your day starts with a wide-ranging breakfast buffet, prepared by our breakfast crew. Every morning you get to enjoy fresh French baguettes, eggs or a croissant, porridge, fresh fruit, several sweet & savory spreads, yoghurts, muesli’s and much more. No worries, we didn’t forget freshly prepared coffee, tea and ofcourse several fruit juices such as jus d’orange. Sit down with your new friends and have a slow start to the day in the french morning sun. Vacation at its best!
Lunch
New this season: the Surf Companions x Brunotti lunchservice. For only 25,- euro a week you’ll get 5 days of delicious, freshly prepared lunch. The best thing about this? You do not have to leave the beach, your lunch will be delivered on the beach by crew! The lunch consists of a daily sandwich special and an icecold drink of choice. It depends on the day what the lunchspecial is, but there’s always a vegetarian choice available.
Drinks
A beach holiday is incomplete without a drink (every now and then). At Surf Companions x Brunotti Surfretreat in the south of France we’ve taken this to heart and created the perfect spot to chill have drinks. Every day at 16:00 our beach bar opens at the camp. Ice cold drinks, summer tunes and good company are waiting for you!
Dinner & BBQ
Every week our crew will fire up the grill at the camp. Year after year the BBQ-night is one of the highlights for our guests of their surf holiday in France. What to expect of our famous BBQ night? Icecold drinks, a variety of delicious meats (as well as vegetarian options), salads, sidedishes, summer tunes and all other things needed for a nice summer BBQ night!
Brunotti surfcamps is among other things known for its delicious dinners, and that’s for a good reason. Nothing is as important as delicious food on your holiday, especially if you spend the entire day catching waves.
For this reason Brunotti surfcamp’s home to a professional chef. The chef cooks with fresh and healthy products for tasty & diverse meals. Are you vegetarian, vegan or do you have one or more allergies? No problem! Let us know and we’ll make sure that you’ll enjoy dinner as much as the other guests. As the French would say, ‘Bon Appétit’!
If you’d like to have a mealpackage during your surfretreat in France you can let us know on the day of arrival. Payment for the mealpackages take place at the end of the week. It’s up to you whether you’d like to have a mealpackage and if yes, which one. It’s also a possibility to let the crew know on the day itself whether you’d like to have a meal or not. About the activities
There are plenty of fun things to do next to surfing during your Surf Companions x Brunotti Surf Retreat.
Can you not get enough of the ocean? Go bodyboarding or skimboarding! If you’d rather stay on land, opt for a game of beach volleyball with your (new) friends. Every day the crew establishes a volleyball court, close to the common Brunotti x Surf Companions tent on the beach. Do you prefer to just chill, enjoy the sun and watch other people surf? In that case the Brunotti Surfcamp common tent is the place to be for you. All the guests and crew are usually hanging out here. There’s music playing and lots of good chats. Beachdays at its best!
Fun activities during the day ask for fun activities during the night. For everyone willing there’s music and dancing in the chill area at the camp. (Non) alcoholic drinks are flowing and good times are guaranteed. It’s even possible to go out for those that’d like to explore the nightlife in the town for a drink. On walking distance from the location of the retreat there’s the Cali Coba bar, which equals 100% party. But no worries! the focus of the Surf Retreat is on surfing, not partying.

Activities
During the Surf Companions x Brunotti retreat weeks our main focus point is surfing. However, the region of Les Landes is so diverse that, when the tide is not good or the surflessons are finished we go out and explore the incredible surroundings!
On tuesdays one of the highlights of the week takes place, the trip to the Spanish city San Sebastián. The city is well known for its cozy tapasbars, beautiful beaches and diverse stores. During the trip there’s plenty of time to explore the old city center, eat ice cream of swim in the beautiful panoramic bay of the city. A favorite of guests for many, many years. We’ll also be taking a trip to the historic French city of Biarritz.
We also organise a trip to the famous surftown of Hossegor. Here you find a great number of surfshops and other stores, as well as the famous surfoutlets. The surfoutlets are the perfect spot for all products and clothes related to surf, but with a huge discount! Fancy something more relaxing? Participate in our yogalessons in the forest or on the beach!
What can you expect of your evenings during your surf retreat in France? We are not going to give all the activities away, but there are a French wine- and cheesenight and a Spanish night with salsa, paella and sangria o the programme.

Prefer flying? There are flights departing from all over Europe to France. It’s best to fly to either Bordeaux & take the train to St-Vincent-de-Tyrosse or fly to Biarritz. We can arrange pick-up for you on either one of these locations.
Is travelling by train the way to go for you? This also works out perfectly fine. Make sure that your endstation is St-Vincent-de-Tyrosse and if needed we can arrange a transfer for you (and your friends) from the trainstation to the surf retreat
